Yost Meadows & Yost Lake Trail

This hike delivers amazing views of town from the beginning.  It starts with an uphill climb and eventually levels out to a rolling ascent.  You will cross the June Mountain Ski area above the chalet.  You can end at Yost meadows or head on a mile further to Yost Lake. This can be the end of your journey and head back.

Or you can continue on and for another two miles where Yost trail connects to the Fern trail so you can ascend to Fern Lake or head down the hill and end up at the Fern trail head down canyon.  Make sure the kids and adults in your group are prepared for the miles. It goes without saying, if you do this in the winter, you need gear and the ability to navigate the terrain, possibilities are endless and so are the risks. Never head out unprepared or without notification.
