Local Suggestions

There is an almost endless amount of dirt trails surrounding the June Lake area which makes for lots of fun exploring. Below are a few suggested trails and also a link to an OHV area map for your planning pleasure:

June Lake to Mammoth (or vice versa) – Follow the Green poles marked “Mammoth to June” to get from one town to another.  Oddly enough there are no maps that advertise this trail, although it is there.  Travel among the many dirt roads between these two great communities

Grant Lake Area – There are a multitude of off road trails in this area, you can travel along the HWY 158 to get there.  Make sure you check out the June Lake OHV map for a full view of all the trails

Bald Mountain Road – 23 Mile Loop open to the public

East Crater Loop –  24 Mile Loop with up close views of the mono craters

USEFUL TIPS

  • June Lake Loop has year round activities

  • The busiest tourism season is Summer (June/July/Aug)

  • The water is better up here, drink it from the tap
